Netter's Atlas of Dissection Illustrations and Photographs is presented as a learning resource for the Anatomy student due to its novel presentation in which the illustration is visually correlated with the photographs of cadavers.

The book contains 80 carefully selected plates from the prestigious Netter's Atlas of Human Anatomy, Eighth Edition; each plate is paired with a photograph of an actual cadaveric dissection, sharing the same position, plane, and projection. This helps to resolve the common problem posed by dissected and processed specimens from body donors, which do not faithfully reproduce the idealized images of an anatomy atlas.

In both cases, the images share labels that identify all relevant anatomical structures, including muscles, bones, nerves, blood vessels, and organs. Used together, these labels serve as a guide for students to learn about the structures and understand their anatomical relationships.

It is a necessary tool in the prosection or dissection laboratory, for Anatomy professors, and students of Medicine and other health sciences, as well as a magnificent aid outside the laboratory for practicals, exams and surgical rotations.
