The primary objective of this work is to enable physicians specializing in diagnostic imaging who treat children in their institutions, or pediatricians specializing in pediatric diagnostic imaging, to gather knowledge and personal experiences within a limited reading time. This will improve the application and use of various imaging modalities to aid in the diagnosis of pathologies in pediatric practice. These chapters do not aim to teach specific techniques or how to interpret images using different modalities, but rather to inspire the reader to choose pediatric diagnostic imaging as a specialty. Seventy-three common clinical presentations in pediatrics are described, with a brief summary of their characteristics and the role of imaging in selecting the appropriate treatment. Other non-imaging studies commonly ordered to rule out or confirm diseases are not mentioned; the focus is on the rational use of diagnostic imaging.
